Instance

Definition

An instance is a workspace on the server. It contains all projects technical settings (web server url, consolidation address, publication address, security settings: all these elements are integrated into the GT database of the instance) and the connection parameters to the GT database (repository) and the client base. Basically, an instance consists of a repository and a client base. In addition to the instance technical settings, the repository contains all the operating data of the project: templates, actions, publication statuses and history.

When a user logs on an instance, the information and features it access depend on its profile.

Instance creation and maintenance operations are performed by administrators using the GTAdmin module.
